A 100Ah battery’s camping runtime depends on nominal voltage, permitted usable energy and the load. Amp-hours alone cannot be compared with a portable station’s watt-hour rating.
Correction — October 22, 2026: Earlier versions included unsupported first-hand testing or experience claims. Those claims have been removed. This guide does not report measurements made by Wild Smart Gear.
Convert Ah to Wh
Nominal Wh ≈ voltage × Ah. A hypothetical 12.8V 100Ah battery is approximately 1280Wh on that nominal basis. A different nominal voltage changes the calculation. Available energy and load limits still depend on the product.
Use your actual energy budget
Average watts × hours estimates energy for a constant load. For cycling equipment use representative daily Wh. Add other equipment and an appropriate reserve. Do not treat a universal depth-of-discharge figure as permission for every battery.
Battery and output equipment differ
A standalone battery may require a supported charger, BMS, protection and conversion equipment. Do not treat it as a portable power station with ready-to-use outlets. Follow the system documentation.
